Arena Mare's Three Successive Sydney Wins
Winner Take All, a 4-year-old mare by the Lomar Park Danehill sire Arena has lived up to her name in fine style in the February 16 – March 23 period, winning three successive races in Sydney in the 1400-1550m range.
The first two, including one by 1.5 lengths, were on the Randwick Kensington circuit and the third at Warwick Farm on March 25.
Raised on Fred Peisah’s Lomar Park stud at Werombi in the Sydney hinterland, Winner Take All is the first winner for the homebred and raced Spinning World (USA) mare Royal Flutter, a winner in six starts of an event over 1200m at Kembla Grange.
She is a half-sister to top race filly Regal Cheer (won six races, including the STC Coolmore Classic-Gr,1, AJC Surround Stakes-Gr.2; second STC Queen of the Turf Stakes-Gr.2 and AJC Light Fingers Stakes-Gr.2) and from another of the long list of good horses bred on Lomar Park, the Archregent STC Magic Night Stakes-Gr.2 winner and Golden Slipper third Regal Chamber.
As Regal Cheer is also by Arena, she is a three-quarter sister to Winner Take All.
In addition they are closely related to another Arena star in My Lady’s Chamber, a winner of the Canberra National Sprint, runner up in the AJC Flight Stakes-Gr.1, NSW Tattersall’s Furious Stakes-Gr.2 and BTC Doomben Roses-Gr.3. My Lady’s Chamber was produced the Lomar Park bred Marauding Sydney winner Queen’s Suite, a half-sister to Regal Chamber.
Trained at Warwick Farm by Bill Prain, Winner Take All is raced by a Fred Peisah Lomar Park Stud Syndicate with C.L. Krogh and John and Kay Park. The Parks for many years operated the Stratheden Stud at Tamworth and stood the prolific source of winners Switch In Time.
Arena is one of two sires currently standing at the long established Lomar Park stud, sharing the stallion yards with Valixir (IRE), a world class performer from1600m to 2400m by the Sharpen Up Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Trempolino. Valixir’s first crop are two.
