Darci Keeps Good Spring Rolling

Bede Murray trained Darci Be Good kept Inglis’ strong run in three-year-old stakes races rolling today with victory in the Group Three NJC Spring Stakes (1600m) at Newcastle.

Darci Be Good (P$50,000 2010 Easter, 3g Darci Brahma-You Can’t Say That) has been a model of consistency this year, with the Kembla Grange trained galloper now the winner of three of his six starts with earnings of over $220,000.

Inglis graduates have won the last four runnings of the Spring Stakes, with Darci Be Good following Ilovethiscity (Classic), Lovemelikearock (Easter) and Sousa (Easter) as winners of the mile event for horses in their classic year at Newcastle.

Darci Be Good also became the tenth individual three-year-old stakes winner in Australia this season that was offered for sale by Inglis.

The son of Darci Brahma is raced by a syndicate that includes Illawarra Turf Club employees, and the whole group of owners will be hoping he can follow fellow Inglis Easter graduate Sousa in completing the G3 NJC Spring Stakes – G1 ATC Spring Champion Stakes double.

“I think the further he goes the better he’s going to be,” trainer Bede Murray said.

“He’ll definitely go to the Spring Champion and then he’ll be having a break.

“He’ll be a lovely autumn horse”.

The 2012 Inglis Australia Easter Yearling Sale will be held at the peak of the Sydney Autumn Carnival next year, between the ATC Golden Slipper and Australian Derby meetings.
